Building and SEO-Optimizing a Recruitment Site Specialized for the Industrial Waste Industry

Challenge

In launching an industry-specialized recruitment media platform, the following challenges arose.

  • An intuitive search experience was needed so job seekers could find listings by "job type, work location, work style, and specific preferences."
  • Combinations of search conditions tended to generate large numbers of near-duplicate pages, creating a risk of SEO cannibalization.
  • It was necessary to build member registration and application flows using familiar channels such as LINE, along with content that showcases hiring companies attractively.
  • An admin screen was needed that even non-engineers could use to register and manage job listings.

Solution & Team

Building on the Jobcy recruitment site framework, we consistently implemented the search experience, membership foundation, operational management, and SEO required for an industry-specialized media platform.

  • Multi-condition job search: Implemented job listing and detail pages supporting filtering by job type, work location (all 47 prefectures / municipalities), employment type, and specific preferences, with newest-first sorting.
  • Member registration & login foundation: Supported member registration/login via LINE, Google, and email (including LINE login integration).
  • Admin screen: Built an admin screen that even non-engineers could use to create and manage job listings and operate a region master, with support for multi-language/translation as well.
  • SEO optimization: Built the foundation for search-driven traffic through consistent H1 tagging across all pages, deduplication of search-condition pages (consolidating to canonical URLs by region), meta titles/descriptions, and breadcrumbs/structured data.
  • Content: Implemented content aimed at changing the industry's image, such as an "Interesting Companies to Discover" feature introducing companies' initiatives and a job-hunting tips/experience blog.

Operating across two environments — staging (with Basic authentication) and production — we ran QA using an issue-tracking spreadsheet, and were responsible for everything from the beta release (made public after UAT) through ongoing improvements, SEO work, and maintenance.

Team: A core Miichisoft team of 2–3 (1 PM/BrSE + 1–2 developers). Worked closely with the client's director via Slack, Figma, and an issue-tracking spreadsheet, and was responsible for everything from design implementation through release and ongoing improvements.
Period: Through April 2024 (beta release) / Ongoing improvements, SEO, and maintenance thereafter (within 2024)
Engagement: Project-based

About the Client

The client operates its own recruitment and hiring media specialized in the industrial waste and recycling industry. Against a backdrop of industry-wide labor shortages and a negative image of the work as "tough and dirty," the client was working to launch a web service connecting job seekers with companies in the industry.

They needed a recruitment site built on an existing job-site theme as a base, but enhanced with a search experience tailored to the industry's characteristics, compelling content to showcase hiring companies, and stronger search-driven traffic (SEO).
