What I learned in Japan

After graduating from university in Vietnam, I moved to Japan, where I had the opportunity to work. Through my time at Japanese companies, I learned a great deal from the exceptional work ethic and professionalism of Japanese employees. I found myself asking, again and again: why has Japan developed so remarkably, and could Vietnam grow in the same way?

My first setback

I returned to Vietnam in 2015, hoping to put the knowledge and skills I had gained in Japan to use, and founded my first company with a group of friends. But a lack of experience caught up with us, and we closed the business within a year. That experience made clear to me how much practical knowledge and skill I still needed, so I set out to gain further experience as a manager at a large company.

Founding Miichisoft

Building on that experience, I founded Miichisoft in 2018 together with colleagues who shared the same vision. Working in offshore development, I saw firsthand the strong capabilities of Vietnamese engineers, yet I also recognized that the environment and mindset needed to fully unlock that potential were not yet in place.

Three challenges I set out to solve by starting our own company

  • Delivering greater value to our customers, not just implementing specifications, but working together through consulting to find the best possible solutions.
  • Building an environment where our people can grow, shifting our mindset from order-driven production to product thinking.
  • Raising the profile and value of Vietnamese talent on the international stage.

The origin of our name

The name Miichisoft combines the Japanese words for "future No. 1" with "software," reflecting our aspiration to become the No. 1 company delivering the best software solutions, now and in the future.
