New Development of an Eye-Care App That Turns Vision Care into a Game (iOS/Android)

For the company, this app marked a new entry into the smartphone-based self-care space, requiring a balance between medical/healthcare expertise and sustained engagement as a game.

• Translating a scientifically grounded visual training method into an experience that everyone would want to keep doing every day
• Operability intuitive enough for a wide range of users, from seniors to younger age groups
• Releasing on both iOS and Android platforms simultaneously within a limited timeframe and team
• Newly building an operational foundation including user registration, notifications, and an admin screen

We were responsible end-to-end for everything from consulting, basic design, and UX/UI design through development, testing, and post-release maintenance.

• Turning visual training into a game: Implemented the training as a one-touch matching puzzle game, designing an experience that anyone could casually keep up with
• Gamification to encourage continuity: Combined a ranking feature, XP, consecutive-use days (streaks), and notifications to encourage daily habit formation
• Cross-platform development: Built the app with Flutter to deliver iOS and Android simultaneously, with PHP + AWS on the backend and Firebase for push notifications
• Operational foundation: Set up user registration (provisional registration email), personal information management, and an admin screen (user management), and handled maintenance and continuous improvement after release
