AI News Flash | Google Integrates Gemini into Chrome

Hello from the AI world! 🚀 Today's newsletter covers the following topics: ・Google integrates Gemini into Chrome ・Notion 3.0 launches with new AI Agent features ・YouTube integrates Veo 3 and new AI features into Shorts
Google Integrates Gemini into Chrome
Google has announced a major Chrome update for US Mac and Windows users, integrating the AI assistant "Gemini" directly into the browser, plus automatic task execution, an AI search mode, and stronger security.
New Gemini Features in Chrome
US users with English set can now chat with Gemini on any webpage via the icon in Chrome's top-right corner. It helps organize complex information, such as explaining on-screen source code, and can work across multiple tabs, comparing and summarizing — useful for trip planning or product comparisons. Deeper integration with Calendar, YouTube, and Maps will let users schedule meetings or find video content without leaving the page.

Google plans to add "agentic" capabilities to Gemini within a few months, letting AI handle complex tasks automatically — e.g., browsing sites, booking, adding items to a cart, leaving only the final payment to the user. Chrome's address bar will also gain an "AI mode," accepting complex questions instead of simple keywords and suggesting related questions based on the page being viewed.

Google is also using AI to boost security: Chrome will use the "Gemini Nano" model to detect and block AI-driven phishing, and on supported sites auto-reset compromised old passwords with one click. With these updates, Google is redefining the browser's role — from a search tool into a smart hub where AI actively performs tasks and protects users.
Notion 3.0 Launches with New AI Agent Features
Notion has officially released version 3.0 with a new "Agents" feature — an AI tool designed to understand a user's work context, carry out complex tasks, and automate everyday manual work.
What's New in Notion 3.0?
Notion Agent accesses information and runs workflows like a skilled Notion user. While prior Notion AI mainly answered questions or edited a single page, Agent now works autonomously across hundreds of pages for up to 20 minutes — combining Notion 1.0's workspace, 2.0's databases, and new execution features in 3.0. Agent's uses are wide-ranging: gathering customer feedback from Slack, Notion, and email into a structured database; turning meeting notes into proposals, updating tasks, drafting follow-ups; even managing a movie list or hobbies. Users can customize Agent for greater efficiency by creating a dedicated guide page that teaches it how to categorize work, format answers, and reference information, and can freely set its name and interface.

Notion plans to add "Custom Agents" that run fully automatically on preset schedules or triggers and can be shared across a team. Overall, Notion 3.0 and AI Agent mark a major step toward a more proactive, automated work platform — freeing users to focus on tasks that need creativity and expertise.
YouTube Integrates Veo 3 and New AI Features into Shorts
At its "
" event, YouTube unveiled new AI tools for creators. CEO Neal Mohan said the tools reflect the belief that "AI should support human creativity," offering new storytelling methods and helping viewers discover content more easily.
YouTube's New AI Features
The centerpiece is a custom version of Google DeepMind's video model Veo 3, now built into YouTube Shorts, letting users create short vertical videos with sound from text prompts alone. Access it via the "Create" button and the sparkle icon in the Shorts interface. It's currently available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, but not yet in Vietnam.

Alongside Veo 3 in Shorts, this update adds several AI tools to simplify content creation and offer new forms of expression. "Edit with AI" auto-drafts a video from raw footage, speeding up editing, while "Speech to Song" turns speech or voice into original music, letting creators easily turn audio into a song. YouTube also upgraded YouTube Studio's management tools: expanded facial recognition lets Partner Program creators detect videos misusing their face or image and request removal, better protecting their rights.

The update also brings the AI chatbot "Ask Studio" (US only for now), a co-editor feature for publishing to multiple channels, and title A/B testing, plus a limited test of automatic lip-synced dubbing. Together, these updates show YouTube ramping up AI investment for its creator community — making content creation easier and more varied while giving creators better tools to manage and protect their work.
