Continuous lab-type development of the "Smart Construction" Customer Portal for construction DX
Challenge
EARTHBRAIN's "Smart Construction" is a construction DX platform made up of numerous applications, including dashboards, simulation, and 3D machine guidance. As the number of construction companies, sites, and users adopting these applications grew, there was a need to securely centralize the management of members, permissions, and licenses across organizations and sites, and to build and continuously expand a common platform serving as the gateway to each application. At the same time, keeping up with multilingual support and evolving security requirements amid global expansion had become a challenge that in-house development resources alone struggled to sustain continuously.
Solution & Team
Miichisoft formed a dedicated lab-type team to continuously develop and expand the Customer Portal for "Smart Construction." This portal serves as the common entry point to applications such as Smart Construction Dashboard, Simulation, Fleet, Quick3D, Design3D, Pointworks, and File Manager, providing the following management functions.
- Hierarchical management of organizations, sites, and users, with fine-grained permission control per organization and site
- Adding and managing organization members, and inviting and managing guest (external company) participation
- Managing and assigning contracted licenses (license settings)
- Bulk security settings at the organization level (authentication policy, login control)
- Users' own information, password, language, and security settings
- Multilingual support including Japanese, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Czech, German, and Thai
Since 2023, a dedicated lab team of about 6 members per month has continuously handled feature additions, improvements, and maintenance, moving steadily from requirements alignment through release and operation via monthly work reports and close communication in Japanese.
