What Is The Omotenashi ICT Association?
The Omotenashi ICT Association works to enhance regional revitalization and sustainable development by applying cutting-edge ICT solutions. Actually, the association has 2 main objectives: Tourism ICT and Local community ICT. In other words, Omotenashi ICT focuses on enhancing tourism and strengthening the local community by expanding the use of ICT services.
For example, the association strives to integrate advanced ICT hospitality services to enhance the convenience of using infrastructure related to local foods, clothing, and shelter. This aims to improve the quality of services and tourism experiences for both domestic and international visitors to Japan.
In July 2018, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications commissioned the Omotenashi ICT Association to conduct a demonstration project for the Promotion of Information Trust Function Utilization in Saitama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and Okinawa Prefecture.
Omotenashi ICT hopes that these efforts will create an environment where various industries, not only tourism, can collaborate to enhance and sustain the local information society through smart city products, the promotion of a new tourism-based nation, and the realization of the ICT society.
